Shell Core Machines

Shell Core Process

Precise and Lightweight Core Technologies

The Shell Core Process is based on the principle of applying resin-coated sand to a heated core box, allowing the sand to form a thin, hard layer (shell) on its surface. Cores and molds produced using this method offer high strength despite being lightweight. They are unrivaled, especially in the casting of thin-walled parts and in critical engineering applications requiring high surface quality.

Shell Core Manufacturing Technology

Our shell core machines are equipped with precise thermal control units and are designed to fully adapt to different production scales. These cores, which can be produced in a hollow shell form, facilitate gas release, minimize casting defects, and reduce operating costs.

Advantages of the Shell Process

Key advantages that increase efficiency and part quality:

Lightweight and High-Strength Cores: Thanks to their hollow design, they are both lightweight and highly resistant to casting pressure.

Mass Production Speed: Thanks to its rapid curing mechanism, it enables mass production in short cycle times.

High Dimensional Accuracy: Because it is formed in heat-treated molds, it has millimeter-level dimensional stability.

Excellent Surface Quality: Thanks to the use of very fine-grained resin sand, it offers smooth surfaces that do not require post-casting grinding.

Minimum Sand Consumption: Significant savings in raw material usage are achieved because only the outer shell hardens and excess sand is recovered.

Wide Range of Applications: Used in all types of complex castings, from automotive and hydraulic parts to valve bodies and thin-channel components.
